The German armored reconnaissance vehicle Fennek

     The Fennek is a German 4×4 armored vehicle. It was developed in the 1990’s by KMW for the needs of the German and Netherland armies. The Fennek was put into service in 2003.

     The Fennek has the pilot situated in the front center, two team members are placed side-by-side in the center of the vehicle and the powertrain is in the rear. The recon version is equipped with a retractable optic module. Different models are developed for recon, anti-tank, engineering, sol-air defense and artillery observation units.
