The French Mirage F1 fighter jet will be put into retirement after 40 years of faithful service within the French air force. For its final big show, it will fly for the last time on the 14th of July 2014, a national holiday, over the Champs-Elysées. Pilots, mechanics and service personnel then gathered for one last time on the base where the Mirage F1 will be stored.

This jet, specialized in reconnaissance, has participated in all French operation since 1974, from ex-Yugoslavia to Afghanistan and the more recent Mali. Designed and built in France by Dassault in over 700 units, and available in an attack and a recon version.
