The Italian main battle tank C1 Ariete
The C1 Ariete is an Italian main battle tank. It was developed in the 80-90s by OTO-Breda and Iveco Fiat. Ariete is put into service in 1979.
The C1 Ariete is developed to replace the M-60 tanks in the Italian Armed Forces. The Ariete has classic occidental battle tank architecture with the pilot in the front, the powertrain in the rear and the turret in the center of the frame, with manual canon loading.
The Italian army is the sole user of the main battle tank C1 Ariete.
