The BMP-3 is a Russian armored infantry fighting vehicle. It was developed in the Soviet Union during the 80’s by Kourganmachzavod. The BMP-3 was put into service in 1987.
The BMP-3 is one of the most heavily armored vehicles in its category. Its weapons are composed of a low pressure 100mm canon, a 30mm automatic canon, a coaxial 7.62 mm machine gun and two hood mounted machine guns.
The BMP-3 can fire AT-10 Stabbler anti-tank missiles from the 100mm canon. Eight missiles are preloaded in the vehicle. The frame of the BMP-3 uses the same configuration as the BMD with the powertrain installed in the rear.
