The Russian main battle tank T-14 Armata
The T-14 Armata is a Russian main battle tank project. It is being developed by the Uralvagonzavod firm since the beginning of 2010. The Armata is a new generation battle tank which possesses a high level of technological advances. It is programmed to enter active service in 2016 – 2017.
The T-14 Armata was unveiled for the first time during a private showing in September of 2013. It has an uninhabited and completely radio controlled turret with an automatic loader. The three crew members are installed in the heavily protected front of the frame. The frame of the Armata is designed to give it several combat functionalities: infantry, heavy troop transport, artillery and mechanic support.
