The Chinese main battle tank ZTZ-99 / Type-99

 

 

     The ZTZ-99 is Chinese main battle tank. It was developed during the 90’s by Norinco. The ZTZ-99 entered service in 2003.

     The ZTZ-99 is also known as the Type-99. It is developed from the line of Chinese tanks Type-96 / Type-98. The main armament is a stabilized 125 mm smoothbore gun whit an autoloader.

     The ZTZ-99 has a thermal camera and stabilized panoramic optics for the tank commander with the ability hunter-killer. The front of the turret is protected by spaced modular armor. The ZTZ-99 has a multi-directional laser counter-measure system.
